Chemistry:

Volatile oils-monoterpens and diterpene alcohols (peregrinol, vulgarol, marrubiol, marrubenol, phytol). Resin, Sterols, Alkaloids-small traces. 0.3–1% bitter diterpene principles; up to 7% tannins; alkaloids (0.3% betonicine and stachydrine); 0.2% choline; flavonoids (apigenin, luteolin, quercetin, and their glycosides); minerals, particularly potassium, vit.C.

Main actions:

Expectorant, anti-spasmodic

Other Actions:

Hepatic, bitter digestive, stomachic, cholagogue, aperient, stimulant, vulnerary, pectoral, weak diuretic, antiseptic, emmenagogue, weak diaphoretic.

Dosage:

tincture 2-6ml TDS
