Ross Hennessy and Marina Kesso founded the first herbal medicine tincturing farm and company in Ireland. As qualified herbalists they spent many years growing and trialling medicinal plant crops for processing into medicines.
Ross is passionate about his work training farmers and wild harvesters in Good Agricultural and Collection Practices. His work and experience with medicinal plants continues to play a key role in the growth and promotion of herb farming in the Ireland.
Ross developed a method of processing that is intertwined with biodynamic practices. He uses both traditional and innovative ways to harness the best properties from the plants.

Leslie Maya Souchere started on her path in herbal medicine while studying organic horticulture. She was immediately drawn to the wonder of medicinal plants. Her eagerness to gain a deeper understanding of them led her to studding herbal medicine. As a qualified herbalist with years of growing experience, she realises the importance of organic and biodynamic growing practices for the health of the healing herbs and to ensure the best phytochemicals are present in the plants we grow and process. Her keen interest in medicine making has brought her here to our processing facility in Shanbally.

Heiko Klee’s farming background led him to studying horticulture before moving to Ireland in 1988 and embarking on a career as an organic vegetable grower.
He has spent over 20 years working on organic farms in Ireland. His expertise and experience of field scale growing is now being utilised to nurture the medicinal crops. Heiko has a long standing interest in natural medicine from youth. He understands the importance of his role in growing healing plants and finds working with the plants incredibly therapeutic. He loves his work at Shanbally and is devoted to seeing the farm flourish.

Briain Walsh studied horticulture at CIT before starting out as a vegetable grower. He came to see quickly the appreciation people had for organically grown healthy food.
Briain felt that working with medicinal plants would be even more rewarding. This has sparked his interest in herbal medicine for his own health. For him, working with the herbs at Shanbally has increased his daily quality of life, finding the sights and smells of the various herbs always uplifting. He is excited about being part of the development of Shanbally farm & herb dispensary.
