Our tinctures are processed, pressed and bottled in a filtered air environment using organic ethanol and highly purified water. Our quality system incorporates GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), GACP (Good Agricultural and collection Practices) and HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) to give you the confidence that we take every step to offer you the best herbal medicine.
The strong energetics and healing properties of locally grown plants are a vital component of any herbal practice. This is something we wish to offer herbal practitioners in Ireland. Every step from seed to bottling is overseen and carefully monitored by qualified herbalists with the intention of producing the best medicine for your patients. Naturally, all herbalists would love to grow and make their own tinctures but time, weather and a supply of high quality ethanol can make this process difficult. Here at Shanbally Herb Dispensary we like to work with practitioners to provide them with tinctures they would be proud to call their own - hand grown, hand harvested and processed with care.
This year we are adding a dried tincture range to our catalogue to provide you with all your herbal dispensary needs. There are certain warmer climate plants we all love to use in clinic that could never grow here in Ireland. We have sourced the best quality dried plant material to process these into tinctures. Giving you the quality medicine making we provide from the more exotic healing plants.
FRESH OR DRIED TINCTURES?
We produce our 1:3 fresh tinctures to the same strength as a 1:3 dried herb tincture. This has always been an area of confusion as various producers of fresh tinctures produce in different ways. We account for the cellular plant moisture and take this into consideration so the amount of added purified filtered water is less. By using the fresh plant cellular water, we are adding a component that is stored by the plant and can only be obtained in fresh tinctures.
Our tinctures are produced from plants at their peak potency, processed within minutes from harvesting, macerated over a full moon cycle. We are continuously developing methods and equipment to offer you better extractions of nature’s healing plants.
On the farm, our wonderful growers are expanding our range of crops from the 75 we have always grown and harvested to 120 varieties of medicinal plants, allowing us to provide you with even more Irish fresh tinctures than ever. These crops are in their infancy now. Once established, they will be added to our fresh tincture range. This autumn we are also planting in 15 varieties of medicinal tree crops on the farm.
This is our long term commitment to creating a sustainable herbal medicine industry and our intention to reduce the carbon footprint of herbal medicines used in your clinic.
